Over the last few years, many great smartphones are being released from more and more brands. The hype for may of these smartphones, may be really high when we anticipate a new, innovative feature or a great smartphone at a significantly lower price level than expected.

There are only few smartphones, however, that keep the excitement level so high throughout each of the last years. Traditionally, the new Galaxy Note is one of these phones. Samsung’s August Unpacked Event is one of the tech milestones of each year.

The official event and announcement of the Galaxy Note 10 will take place later today, but there are already many leaks online, that have revealed most of the phone’s specifications.

What should we expect from Samsung’s event then, based on these leaks?

For start, this year Samsung will not release only one version of the Galaxy Note. We expect four different Galaxy Note 10 versions instead. The regular 6.3’ Galaxy Note 10, the 6.8’ Galaxy Note 10+ and two similar 5G versions.

The 6.3’ version will have a lower screen resolution than last year, rockin’ a Full HD AMOLED display similar to the one you can find on the Galaxy S10e. The Note 10+ will have a Quad HD AMOLED panel as we should expect from a 1099$ smartphone. There were some rumours about the addition of a 90Hz refresh rate display, the one that Samsung provides to OnePlus 7 Pro. However, this will not arrive this year on the Note series.

Samsung will follow their infinity-o design principles for the Note 10’s display. This time though, the punch hole will be single and placed on the top center part of the display for both the regular and the plus Note 10 version.

The headphone jack is dead, long live the USB-C dongle. Samsung will not be adding a 3.5mm headphone jack to the Note 10, despite their criticism to Apple in 2017 for the same issue. This is an interesting take, since the S10 series is incorporating a headphone jack and it will be the first time that the S line will be having more features than the Note series of the same year.

Battery size will probably be average for the regular version, as it will only be 3,400mAh. The lower resolution and the 7nm processors will be improving the phone’s efficiency though. The plus version will have a large 4,300mAh battery though. The good thing is that the charging speeds will be blazing fast since all variants will support a fast charger up to 45W. This is not expected to be included in the box though. It will be interesting to see what will the battery life of the different variants be, depending on the processor. The Note 10’s SoC is expected to be either the brand new 7nm Exynos 9825 or the Snapdragon 855, depending on your region. Unfortunately the Note 10 lineup will not be available with the latest Snapdragon 855+.

All phones will incorporate an Always On dynamic display with Gorilla Glass 6, HDR 10+, wireless charging with reverse wireless charging support, Bluetooth 5.0, will be IP68 certified. We also expect a new S-Pen that will bring in new Wireless Gestures and Gesture Navigation.

The Note 10+ will also have a new triple rear camera setup with a 16MP Ultra Wide and a 12MP 2X Telephoto lens accompanying the 12MP primary shooter. We also expect a ToF lens on the Note 10+ only. The selfie camera is expected to be at 10MP. Both will support HDR 10+ recording up to 4K 60fps (30fps on the 6.3 Note 10).

All Note 10 versions will come with a minimum of 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage and a minimum of 8GB and 12GB RAM for the Note 10 and Note 10+ versions respectively. Only the Note 10+ will support external micro USB cards.
