AirPods Pro: How To Enable Conversation Boost
Conversation Boost: What is it?
June 2021. WWDC ‘21. Craig Federighi was on stage and started talking about AirPods. The first feature that he announced was Conversation Boost for the AirPods Pro. However, Conversation Boost was unavailable until this week, when Apple rolled out the new 4A400 AirPods firmware.
Conversation Boost is a new feature that helps people to hear conversations in crowded or noisy environments easier through computational audio and beam forming microphones. Conversation Boost also helps people with mild hearing issues to understand better the conversations that take place around them, by enhancing the audio levels of nearby voices. Simply put, you can hear louder the voice of the people you speak with.
Apple’s calibration focuses “AirPods Pro on the voice of the person directly in front of you, making it easier to distinguish speech and follow along in face‑to‑face conversations”. In this way, Apple secures that you will be hearing louder only the voices (and not all sounds) around you.
How to enable Conversation Boost
Enabling conversation boost for your AirPods Pro is really easy and simple:
Firstly, make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS 15 version (currently iOS 15.0.1).
Then Go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Headphone Accommodations > Transparency Mode (on the bottom).

Tap Conversation Boost to turn it on.
