Apple Discontinues The iTunes Movie Trailers App
For over a decade, iTunes Movie Trailers had its own dedicated application and website, serving as a go-to source for movie enthusiasts. However, recent developments have seen Apple discontinue both the App Store application and the website version of iTunes Movie Trailers.
If you've already downloaded the application and attempt to open it, you'll now be prompted to switch to the separate Apple TV app for a similar content experience. The same applies if you access trailers.apple.com from your computer or iOS/iPadOS device, which redirects you to the website tv.apple.com or the iOS/iPadOS app, respectively.
iTunes Movie Trailers was once a popular app among iOS users, offering a convenient platform to watch movie trailers, access information about upcoming films, and explore a wide range of movie-related content. However, the introduction of the Apple TV app has provided users with an alternative means of staying updated on upcoming movies and trailers. This shift in strategy led Apple to discontinue the iTunes Movie Trailers app, consolidating its resources into a single application.
In the image below, you can see the message that prompts users to open the Apple TV application on their iPhones when attempting to access iTunes Movie Trailers from their devices.
