Apple Released New AirTag Firmware

Apple Released New AirTag Firmware

It seems that this is the Firmware update week for Apple’s accessory lineup. Following the firmware updates of the AirPods Pro 2 and then the entire supported AirPods lineup earlier this week, Apple today released a new firmware version for its accessory tracker, AirTag.

AirTag Firmware version 1.0.301 has now been replaced by version 2.0.24 which has started rolling out to your devices. The build number of the new firmware version is 2A24e. Apple hasn’t shared any release notes for this new version. The previous update brought tracking optimisations, making it easier for users to locate any unknown AirTags that may be used to track their location.

Updating the AirTags manually is not possible up until now. You just need to keeping your AirTag close to your iPhone and waiting until it updates.

Find My app makes it easy for users to check their current AirTag Firmware version. You just simply:

  • launch Find My App

  • go to tab “Items”

  • tap on your AirTag(s) and

  • tap on the name of your AirTag until you see the current Firmware version

Find your Firmware by tapping on your AirTag in the items tab; then tap the AirTag name
