iOS 18.1 Tutorial: How to Open Control Center from Your Dock
iOS 18.1 brings Apple Intelligence to iPhones, along with new features and optimizations designed to make life easier and more accessible. One standout update is a useful new action in the Shortcuts app, allowing users to customize Control Center controls and eventually access Control Center directly from the iPhone Dock. Here’s how to set it up:
1. Open the Shortcuts App
Launch the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
2. Create a New Shortcut
Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner to start a new shortcut.
3. Search and Select the Action
Tap the “Search Actions” bar, then search for and select “Show Control Center.”
4. Configure Control Options
Tap on “Show” and select “Toggle” to set up your shortcut preferences.
6. Name Your Shortcut
Give your shortcut a clear, descriptive name:
Tap the shortcut name at the top.
Select “Rename” and enter a name like Control Center.
7. Choose an Icon
Personalize your shortcut icon:
Tap the shortcut name at the top again.
Select “Choose Icon” and pick a relevant icon and color. This icon will appear if you assign the shortcut to the Lock Screen later.
Tap “Done” to save.
8. Add an Image to Represent the Shortcut
Use the provided image below as a custom icon for your shortcut. This image will represent your shortcut on the Home Screen and Dock.
How to download from iPhone / iPad: Long press on any image before it pops up and select “Download Linked File” from your iPhone/iPad.
How to download from Mac: Just make sure to click on the wallpapers so that they expand in high resolution. Then you can right click and save from your computer or Mac.
9. Add Shortcut to Home Screen
Tap the shortcut name at the top again.
Select “Add to Home Screen.”
Tap the left icon option to assign the image, then select the saved image from Step 7.
10. Move to Dock for Quick Access
Drag and drop the created shortcut to your Dock for even faster access.
Now, with just a tap from your Home Screen or Dock, you’ll have instant access to Control Center!
