Apple releases iOS 14.5.1 fixing an App Tracking Transparency bug
Apple just released iOS 14.5.1 for all iPhone 6s and later models fixing an App Tracking Transparency bug that prevented some iPhone users from receiving tracking prompts by iOS apps after disabling and then re-enabling the “Allow Apps to Request to Track” feature in Settings.
Apple also confirms that iOS 14.5.1 fixes a WebKit security issue that may lead to arbitrary code execution and could have been actively exploited. Apple also updated macOS Big Sur to fix this issue with the new iOS 11.3.1 version.
Furthermore, a large number of iOS 14 users have been complaining that the option to enable the “Allow Apps to Request to Track” feature remains greyed-out. It seems that this update doesn’t fix this problem.
Apple also updated watchOS (version 7.4.1) and iOS 12.5.3 for older iPhone and iPad models that do not support iOS 13 and iOS 14 / iPadOS 14.
You can manually check and download the latest iOS updates on your iPhone or iPad by accessing Settings > General > Software Update.
