Apple officially announces WWDC 2022 & Wallpapers
Apple has officially announced the awaited annual Worldwide Developers Conference 2022, also known as WWDC22 or Dub Dub for those who are more familiar with the Apple slang.
WWDC ‘22 will take place during the first week of June, following the tradition of the recent years. WWDC22 will be the third straight developers conference that will be held online since the pandemic started in 2020.
Before the 2020’s, Apple used to invite developers from around the globe in Cupertino for a week full of developer-focused onsite events. Developers could meet other developers and join sessions held by Apple’s experts on everything related to Apple’s proprietary software & coding, such as Swift UI. These in-person sessions have now been replaced by online events which of course give everyone the chance to attend live from anywhere in the world.
The two main events, even in this online type of conference is the opening Keynote, hosted by Tim Cook, and the State of the Union keynote. During the former, Apple’s CEO highlights all the major changes related to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS and of course watchOS. The latter highlights and demonstrates changes in Apple's software developer platforms which are then detailed even further during the WWDC week in other sessions.
The opening keynote and the State of the Union keynote will be held on June 6 2022. During the same day, Apple is also expected to announce the Apple Design Awards which are held since 1997. Apple Design Awards were Initially known as Human Interface Design Excellence (or HIDE) awards. Apple awards the most innovative apps and games available in its platforms (click here for the the 2021 winners).
