Apple Unveils Groundbreaking iOS 17 Accessibility Features to Empower Users of All Abilities
Apple has previewed new software features for cognitive, speech, and vision accessibility. These updates leverage advancements in hardware and software, including on-device machine learning, demonstrating Apple's commitment to creating inclusive products.

Live Speech enables nonspeaking individuals to type and have their words spoken aloud during calls and conversations. Personal Voice allows users at risk of losing their ability to speak to create a synthesized voice that sounds like them. These are remarkable features that will definitely be talked upon later this year once Apple releases it.
For users with vision disabilities, Detection Mode in Magnifier introduces Point and Speak, which identifies and reads text aloud when users interact with physical objects like household appliances.
Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, emphasized the company's belief that technology should be accessible to all users. Sarah Herrlinger, Apple's senior director of Global Accessibility Policy and Initiatives, highlighted the collaborative approach taken with disability communities in developing these innovative features.
The upcoming accessibility features reflect Apple's commitment to empowering users, maintaining privacy, and ensuring technology is accessible to everyone. These features will be introduced with iOS 17 which is expected to be released in September 2023.
