Apple Releases iOS 16.4 Beta 3 For Developers - New Features
Introduction
Apple has seeded the third beta of iOS 16.4 for all compatible iPhones with a developer account. Although it’s still too early to see what’s new in this beta, there are already some lower impact changes.
In general about iOS 16.4: While the most noticeable change is the addition of new emojis, there are also some significant updates that will impact our iOS experience in the future. For example, new features like web push notifications and beta enrollment updates are changing the way we interact with iOS.
New In This Beta
Apple is now adding the option for developers and public beta testers, enrolling to either their developer or public beta updates by using a different Apple ID. This means that the beta-compatible Apple ID can be different than a users’s personal Apple ID. The latter is already registered in the Settings of your device. As you see in the image below, Apple will giving users the option to define their developer beta and public beta profiles.
Apple is finally bringing back the turn-page-animation on Books in iOS 16.4. This animation was somehow ditched by Apple when iOS 16 was launched last fall. Hardcore Books users have been complaining about this change ever since. This animation made a comeback in the previous beta version. However in this version, Apple makes it more obvious these changes by showing a pop up window when accessing Books pn iOS 16.4 for the first time.
New Apple Watch Face colours have also become available in this version of iOS 16.4. You can now check all Fall 2022 options directly on your Watch App on iOS 16.4.
