3. The End of an Era: This is the first time that the base M chip (this time the M3 chip) is powering a 14-inch MacBook Pro, replacing the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the TouchBar. This simply means that Apple is discontinuing the base 13 inch MacBook Pro.

4. Graphics Performance: “The GPU brings new rendering features to Apple silicon, including hardware-accelerated mesh shading for greater capability and efficiency with geometry processing, enabling more visually complex scenes. And hardware-accelerated ray tracing comes to the Mac for the first time, enabling games to render more accurate shadows and reflections to create more realistic environments.” according to Apple.

5. M3 Max with 128GB RAM: The M3 Max MacBook Pro now supports up to 128GB of unified memory for seamless multitasking, something that we only saw previously on the Mac Studio.

6. Improved Display: All MacBook Pro models feature a brilliant Liquid Retina XDR display with a 20% brighter SDR content, ensuring vibrant visuals at 600 nits vs 500 nits in the M2 models.

7. Battery Life: Apple maintains the same battery life as the previous M2 models.

8. Space Black Finish: M3 Pro and M3 Max models now come in a gorgeous space black finish. Although we expected these models to pick up more fingerprints (similarly to the Midnight MacBook Air), Apple claims the new color is reducing fingerprints.

9. Pricing and Availability: The new MacBook Pro models are available for order starting today, with delivery commencing on November 7 for the M3 and M3 Pro versions. M3 Max versions will arrive later in November. Prices start at $1,599 for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3.
