Apple To Introduce New iPhone Stand By Mode On iOS 17
With WWDC 2023 just around the corner, anticipation is building for Apple's opening keynote, with iOS 17 stealing the spotlight even from the highly anticipated announcement of Apple's new Mixed Reality headset. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has shared some exciting details about what iOS 17 could bring for us at WWDC. Among the reported new features is the introduction of "Stand By" mode.
Stand By Mode
One of the new features expected to debut in iOS 17 is Stand By mode. This feature will come into play when the iPhone is locked and positioned horizontally. In Stand By mode, the iPhone will display valuable information such as notifications, weather updates, and calendar appointments, much like the functionality seen in Google or Amazon devices. Sporting a sleek dark background to ensure lower battery consumption, Stand By mode aims to enhance the usability of the iPhone even when it's not in our hands.
The Concept
At 9TechEleven, we have taken the initiative to create a concept that envisions this exciting new feature, despite limited design information provided by Mark Gurman. While Apple is unlikely to adopt the design language of Google or Amazon, we anticipate that iOS 17 will follow a similar approach and aesthetic as its predecessor, iOS 16. However, we anticipate Apple to place more emphasis on widgets in both iOS 17 and watchOS 17, as Gurman's reports suggest. Consequently, our concept aligns with this expectation. It is highly probable that Apple will utilize a predominantly black background with white elements, akin to the current iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets displayed on the Always On Display of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
