Apple Released iOS 17.1.2, macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 and More: What's New
Apple has just rolled out the iOS 17.1.2 update, addressing persistent issues affecting iPhone users. The primary focus of this update is to patch two security vulnerabilities linked to WebKit.
In tandem with the iOS update, Apple has also released corresponding updates for other operating systems. These include:
iOS 17.1.2 (Build Number: 21B101)
iPadOS 17.1.2 (Build Number: 21B101)
macOS Sonoma 14.1.2 (Builds: 23B92 | 23B2091)
The security patches for both iOS/iPadOS and macOS target the aforementioned WebKit security flaws, originally identified by Clément Lecigne of Google's Threat Analysis Group.
According to Apple, the first identified issue is described as follows: 'Processing web content may disclose sensitive information. Apple is aware of a report suggesting that this issue may have been exploited in versions of iOS preceding iOS 16.7.1.'
The second issue is articulated as follows: 'Processing web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is cognizant of a report indicating that this issue may have been exploited in versions of iOS preceding iOS 16.7.1.'"
Detailed description about these updates are available in Apple’s relevant webpage for security releases.
It is strongly recommended to promptly update your device to these latest versions, as withholding updates in the face of significant security vulnerabilities is not advisable.
