Apple Releases iOS 16.3.1: Here's What's New
Apple has just released iOS 16.3.1 for all iPhones that support iOS 16. Apple had released tvOS 16.3.1 and the HomePod firmware version 16.3.1 last week. This made everyone believe that iOS 16.3.1 would be released during the same week. However, Apple made the latest iOS software update available a while ago.
What’s New
The latest release brings several bug fixes according to Apple:
iCloud settings may be unresponsive or incorrectly display if apps are using iCloud
Siri requests for Find My may not work
Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
Security Updates
Apple is also addressing two major security vulnerabilities with iOS 16.3.1. The first is a Kernel vulnerability that may allow an app may to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. The second is a WebKit vulnerability which could lead to arbitrary code execution when maliciously crafted web content was processed.
