Apple Releases New Firmware for AirPods Models & MagSafe Charger

Apple has released new firmware for most AirPods models including the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, some Beats headphones and the MagSafe charger. Let’s dive into the details.

Apple has been quite active recently when it comes to updating the firmware of the AirPods family. This time new firmware is available for all AirPods models apart from the original AirPods. Powerbeats Pro and Bits Fit Pro by Beats have also been updated. Moreover, Apple released new firmware for the original MagSafe Charger.

  • AirPods Pro (2nd generation): 5E135

  • AirPods Pro (1st generation): 5E135

  • AirPods (2nd and 3rd generation): 5E135

  • AirPods Max: 5E135

  • PowerBeats Pro: 5B66

  • Beats Fit Pro: 5B66

  • MagSafe Charger: 258.0

How to check your current firmware version for your AirPods device

You can easily check the current firmware version of your AirPods / AirPods Pro by following the below steps on iOS 16 or iPadOS 16:

  1. Connect your AirPods to your iPhone or iPad

  2. Go to “Settings”

  3. Find and select your AirPods (for example, "9TechEleven’s AirPods Pro").

  4. Scroll down to “Version” and check your current Firmware version. You can also tap on version and check the version of your case as well.
