Spotify: Download Music & Podcasts Straight on your Apple Watch
We have some good news for Spotify and Apple Watch users. Spotify now allows you to download your favourite content directly on your Apple Watch without the need to carry a phone with you.
The popular streaming service started rolling out a new feature that allows users to download any playlist, album or podcast directly on their Apple Watch.
This practically means that you are able to reproduce your content straight from your watch without the need to carry an iPhone with you when you are working out in the gym, running, hiking etc. This has been a long-requested feature from the Spotify community and offers us a glimpse into our smartphone-free future. A stand alone-Apple Watch future, to be more specific, as we anticipate that Apple will soon allow us to set up an Apple Watch without the necessity to pair it with an iPhone.
This practicality is currently rolling out to Spotify Premium users with an Apple Watch Series 3 or later.
This option is still not available for us to test, but here’s how you can enable this feature on your Apple Watch according to Spotify:
Find the music and podcasts you want to download on your watch.
Select the playlist, album, or podcast and press the three dots (…) and choose “Download to Apple Watch.”
To check on the progress, head over to the Downloads section on the watch.
Once playlists, albums, or podcasts in your library are downloaded, you’ll see a little green arrow next to their names.
Connect your headphones and start listening, no matter where you are!
This option isn’t new for Apple Watch owners since it has been available for all Apple Music users for a while. If you are an Apple Music user and want to download music on your Apple Watch read this guide.
