Apple today rolled out a new firmware update for the 2rd generation AirPods and the 1st generation AirPods Pro , version 6A321. Apple also released a new firmware for the AirPods Max, version 6A324. Typically, Apple distinguishes firmware releases between different AirPods models and this time is no exception as the other AirPods models did not receive an updated firmware version today. How to check your current firmware version for your AirPods device
“To use your iPhone or iPad to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, then tap the Info buttonInfo button next to the name of your AirPods. Scroll down to the About section to find the firmware version.
To use your Mac to check that your AirPods are up to date, make sure that you have the latest version of macOS. Press and hold the Option key while choosing Apple menu > System Information.
