Apple Releases iOS 16.5 RC - Official Release Notes

Introduction

Apple is seeding the RC version of iOS 16.5 for all developers and public beta testers. iOS 16.5 betas seem to be focusing more on stability and not on the release of new features as we assumed from the release of previous betas. The build number of today’s beta is 20F65.

Apple also released the RC versions for iPadOS 16.5 (build number: 20F65), tvOS 16.5 (build number: 20L562), macOS 13.4 (build number: 22F62) and watchOS 9.5 (build number: 20T562).

Update to iOS 16.5 RC

The beta update process is now quite simple after iOS 16.4. Users are no longer required to download a beta configuration profile and install it on their device. You just simply go to Settings - General - Software Update and select Developer or Public Beta if you want to update your device on your latest beta. You can always select “Off” to opt-out.

• A new Pride Celebration wallpaper for the Lock Screen to honor the LGBTQ+ community and culture

• Sports tab in Apple News gives easy access to stories, scores, standings, and more, for the teams and leagues you follow

• My Sports score and schedule cards in Apple News take you directly to game pages where you can find additional details about specific games

• Fixes an issue where Spotlight may become unresponsive

• Addresses an issue where Podcasts in CarPlay may not load content

• Fixes an issue where Screen Time settings may reset or not sync across all devices”
