Apple has revived the original HomePod which comes reincarnated as the HomePod Generation 2. The new HomePod looks and feels just like the original HomePod, but it arrives with some engineering tweaks. These adjustments (less microphones, less tweeters) allow Apple to produce and sell the new HomePod at $299. This is $50 less than the launch price of HomePod Gen 1. The sound looks better for some, while others seem to prefer the sound performance of the original HomePod. Apple has equipped the new HomePod with a larger display, similar to the one found in the HomePod mini, a temperature and a humidity sensor. Apple also equipped the new HomePod with real-time sound tuning based on new advanced sound sending technology.
The Wallpapers
The display of the new HomePod gives us an impressive and massive Siri animation, so we decided to create it as a wallpaper. The new wallpaper settings available in iOS 16 allow us to create a new set of wallpapers: a version with Siri on and another one with the Siri animation off. Both versions are available for the iPhone, iPad and the Mac.
