Apple Introduces The Refreshed Mac Studio with M2 Max and M2 Ultra Chips

Apple has just unveiled its latest addition to the Mac lineup with the introduction of the new Mac Studio. This Mac Studio is powered by the M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra chips, offers exceptional performance and enhanced connectivity in the well known sleek and compact design of its predecessor. With the new Mac Studio, Apple promises up to 3 times the speed of the previous-generation Mac Studio with M1 Ultra, the Mac Studio is a true performance powerhouse.

The M2 Max chip, featuring a 12-core CPU and up to a 38-core GPU, provides a significant boost in performance compared to the previous generation. It also offers up to 96GB of unified memory with 400GB/s of memory bandwidth. The Mac Studio with M2 Max is up to 50% faster than its predecessor and 4 times faster than the most powerful Intel-based iMac.

For even more power, the Mac Studio is available with the brand new M2 Ultra chip. With a 24-core CPU, up to a 76-core GPU, and up to 192GB of memory with 800GB/s of unified memory bandwidth, the Mac Studio with M2 Ultra is up to 3 times faster than the previous-generation Mac Studio with M1 Ultra.

The new Mac Studio also offers enhanced connectivity options. It supports higher-bandwidth HDMI, enabling up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates. With the M2 Ultra chip, the Mac Studio can drive up to six Pro Display XDRs, providing a vast amount of screen real estate for pro workflows. It features Wi-Fi 6E for faster download speeds and Bluetooth 5.3 for seamless connections to the latest Bluetooth accessories.

In terms of ports, the Mac Studio includes four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10Gb Ethernet port, an enhanced HDMI port, and two USB-A ports at the back. Additionally, it has two USB-C ports and an SD card slot on the front for easy import of photos and videos.

The new Mac Studio is available to order today, with availability beginning Tuesday, June 13. Price starting at $1,999 (U.S.) and $1,799 (U.S.) for education.
